With stunning views overlooking the City, Barnsdall Park welcome Angelenos—21 years and older—to sip wine, picnic and watch the sunset for another not-to-be-missed season of wine tasting at the iconic cultural destination. Marking its 8th season and attracting sellout crowds, the renowned Barnsdall Friday Night Wine Tastings—the Foundation’s signature fundraising event—returns to the hill on June 3rd and continues through September 2nd. While families of all ages are invited to enjoy the Park, picnic, dance, and participate in craft-making, due to legal regulations, only those ages 21+ will be allowed inside the fence for the wine tasting portion. Music will be presented by KCRW’s DJ Dan Wilcox and ongoing partner, Silverlake Wine, who will curate their fine selections of boutique artisanal wines for park-goers. Local gourmet cheese shop, The Cheese Store of Silverlake, is also sponsoring the event and there will be a number of specialty food trucks on hand from tacos to ice-cream! This year, Lyft is partnering with the Foundation to provide discounted rides to Barnsdall wine-goers. There will be a brand-new merchandise table with Barnsdall-centric swag available for purchase, including branded wine-tasting Tees, signature wine glasses, Barnsdall picnic blankets as well as savory and sweet snacks.
Taking place on the West Lawn, from 5:30pm to 8:30pm, tickets cost $30 for a tasting and $45 for a tasting + tour of Frank Lloyd Wright’s UNESCO-nominated Hollyhock House. The event supports the Park’s capital projects, art programs, historic renovations and gallery exhibitions and tickets can be purchased on the bottom of this page.
Support Barnsdall Art Park by becoming a member. Membership has great benefits including the ability to purchase tickets at the door/gate for any foundation sponsored event (with your membership card, up to 4 tickets on a space available basis) as well as discounted admission fees for a few special events – I.e. Private gallery openings, Croquet & Champagne Brunches, etc. Please note, new membership will not be immediately available for the current week’s event. Please allow 7-10 days for our team to process new memberships. Membership is not transferable.
Food
Bring a picnic! You are welcome to bring your own food, soft drinks, and a blanket; however, NO outside alcoholic beverages will be permitted. We also have a weekly rotation of the best food trucks in Los Angeles attending!
Hollyhock House Special Tours
After an extensive process of restoration, Frank Lloyd Wright’s masterpiece, Hollyhock House, is now open to the public. A limited number of tickets are available for house tours during the Wine Tasting at a cost of an additional $15 per person.
Parking
As many of you know, parking is limited at Barnsdall and free spaces on the Hill often fill up within the first half-hour of any event. There is off-site parking at Kaiser Permanente at 1549 Edgemont, about a 5 minute walk to the wine tasting. If you arrive after 6pm we’d suggest going straight to the Kaiser Edgemont Lot. You can also get here via Metro or Bus to the Vermont/Sunset red line station. We of course encourage walking, biking, and carpooling!
