Seeing as how winter is just starting where we’re at, it almost seems unfair to show you this video. Somehow putting on a neon suit that looks like it was ripped off the stage of a Daft Punk concert and shoveling the snow that’s caked on our driveway doesn’t seem quite as much fun as surfing in it. This video will confirm that fact.

New Duds
I don’t know about you, but when I hear the term “husband and wife team” I think of The Captain and Tenille. And man, is that one lame husband and wife team. Tessa and Torrey are a married duo running a little shop in Vermont that is anything but. Their tees feature original screen prints, most of which are hand drawn, that are also printed by hand. Unique and crunchy in theme, they definitely have that laid back Vermont feel. $24

In this space, we will attempt to decode the hidden meanings of the week’s new posters.
What the art says: The flags, the stadium, the fiery logo, it all adds up to one big, “Huh?” But not as big a “Huh?” as the decision to not make better use of its (jawdropping) star.
What the text says: If you haven’t read the books, stay home. No stars. Not a mention of a producer or trollish director. Even Suzanne Collins, the enormously popular author of the series, goes completely ignored.

Drunk History Christmas starring Ryan Gosling, Eva Mendes & Jim Carrey for FUNNY OR DIE
Fresh off two Golden Globe nominations and plenty of critics’ awards for his three hit movies, Ryan Gosling decided to take one more buzzy role to round out 2011. And given his co-star, this one may draw the most attention of them all.
The “Ides of March,” “Crazy, Stupid, Love.” and “Drive” star features in an egg nog-filled rendition of Funny or Die’s “Drunk History,” mouthing the words of a delightfully drunk narrator who is reading “The Night Before Christmas.” Seeing Gosling in long pajamas and a sleeping cap is funny enough – the guy really refuses to take himself seriously, to his vast credit – but the lady in bed next to him really makes the headlines.
With her eyes closed but a smile on her face, Eva Mendes looks happy as a bundled up kid on Christmas Eve. And if rumors are true – and this video either spoofs on them or confirms them – she’s had an extended most wonderful time of the year. Gosling and Mendes are rumored to be dating, a suspicion that was amped up when Gosling visited Mendes while she was filming a movie in France in November.
The video moves beyond the gossip once Jim Carrey, as Santa Claus, shows up, and all in all, it’s an early gift from Time’s Coolest Person of the Year.
This sounds pretty awesome…if it works!! I’ll do anything to get that daughter of mine to stop screaming bloody murder over her hair.

If you have a brother, you remember some epic fights from when you two were kids. They all started innocently enough with Nerf guns, plastic swords or water balloons, but somehow always ended with a gaping wound on one of your foreheads. So the most basic storyline of two brothers duking it out in Warrior is not exactly a revolutionary idea. That being said, it’s pretty badass when one is an ex-marine and the other is a former MMA fighter and the movie isn’t some corny, plot-less film. It also happens to be the most entertaining thing we’ve seen Nick Nolte in since his mugshot. $15

I know this has been spreading like wildfire for the past couple weeks but I saw it again and thought I’d post it. It made me cry when I watched it the first time. Hurts to know kids hurt so much sometimes. We need to do more….

Christmas Through a Kid’s Eyes
I’m not sure if it really matters if you celebrate Christmas or not. It’s the whole holiday season. It’s awesome and I think we all get into it a bit. I’m a little nicer, more charitable and maybe for a few weeks I put away any bad attitude that’s creeped in. In our family, we consume copious amounts of food and I actually think drinking those Starbucks holiday drinks is a good idea. (Oh the calories!) When I lived back East, it was cold and it often snowed for Christmas. There were travel delays, slushy streets, cold feet, and warm fires. But the food – oh, the food! I love the food my mom, aunt, and grandmothers would cook. Although it is great, it doesn’t have to be. Their food – the smells, the high fat content – all tell me I’m home. READ MORE
